Nanny Help For Your Home Business

August 15th, 2008 by Scott

Have you every considered using nanny help for your home business? Tara’s comment from Children Sleep Hours and Your Business, made me consider the future of my home business and the possible need for childcare. I currently have two children ages 4 and 2, and can manage without a nanny or childcare for now. Have you ever considered utilizing a nanny service or live in care for your home business? Is your business profitable enough to cover the added expense?

Is this a sound business investment and will my family suffer? For one, a nanny would be more expensive than using an off site childcare or daycare provider. You would also need to consider the costs and benefits of having a nanny, as well as the impact on your children and home. Should a dad have a female nanny working at home in the first place?

I recently spoke to a friend that’s a nanny part-time and the mom doesn’t work from home. She charges $15 an hour and would be much more expensive than daycare. Since we paid weekly, the average cost was $4 an hour when I worked in the corporate office. I would love to hear how you balance your work and family responsibilities and if you have ever considered nanny help for your home business?
